David Gareja tour from Tbilisi is a half-day private tour to visit David Gareja monastery and beautiful colored desert. The Cave monastery complex was one of the most remarkable religious-cultural centers in Georgia. The complex was founded in the first half of the 6th century by one of the Assyrian fathers, David. He came with his disciple Lucian to the Gareja desert and settled in a small natural cave. Thus was laid the foundation of the monastery, which in the following centuries became known as the Lavra of David.
The small part of the complex is located on the territory of Azerbaijan. Its exterior and interior are still well preserved and brought to our days, thus presenting the unique style of monastery life, construction traditions and fresco paintings. This sight is located in the Kakheti region.
