One day tour to Kazbegi Full description:
Your tour will start at 9:30 AM from your departure point in Tbilisi and continue to the Kazbegi area. The first few stops will be for photo shoots at Zhinvali Lake. The lake is a reservoir, but with a natural landscape and beautiful views around. Shortly after continuing your journey, you will stop to visit the Ananuri Fortress.
Ananuri architectural ensemble is one of the most important buildings of the feudal era in Georgia. It contains military and religious monuments. Ananuri is one of the best preserved buildings of that era. The castle has retained its architectural face, which helps its visitors to feel the image of the Middle Ages through time.
Lunchtime in Pasanauri to taste mountain Khinkali and other traditional Georgian dishes in a local restaurant. In optional you can have a short masterclass of making Khinkali by yourself. After lunch, the mountainous road trip continues to Gudauri –Ski resort.
The final stop of the tour is the Gergeti Trinity Church – a 14th-century church, standing on a hill, at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level, which can be seen from all places around. Gergeti Trinity Church is a symbol of Orthodoxy. One of the most important relics of Georgian Christians, the cross of St. Nino, was kept here. To get there, we need jeeps, which are already waiting for us in Stepantsminda, the administrative center. This is the final destination of the trip, please note that in bad weather sometimes the view from there is not as clear as in the photos.
